This Cookie Policy explains how WorkGist ("we", "us" or "our") uses cookies on getworkgist.com (the "Service"). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small pieces of information that a website saves on your device so that it can remember things, such as that you are logged in. In this policy, "cookies" also covers similar ways of saving information on your device.
2. How we use cookies
2.1. We use cookies for only two purposes:
- Essential: to provide the Service you ask for, such as keeping you logged in, keeping your account safe and remembering your choices. The Service cannot work properly without them, so they are always on.
- Analytics: to understand how the Service is used so that we can improve it. These are used only if you agree. We do not currently use any analytics cookies. If we introduce them, we will list them here first, and they will stay off unless you turn them on.
2.2. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not allow advertisers to place cookies through the Service.
2.3. Our cookies never contain your phone number, email address or name.
3. The cookies we use
3.1. Essential cookies
They are always on, because the Service cannot work without them.
- Keeps you logged in. 30 days, or until you log out.
- Completes "Continue with Google" sign-in safely. 10 minutes.
- Protects your account by counting wrong log-in codes. 10 minutes.
- Remembers your cookie choices, so we do not ask on every visit. 12 months, then we ask again.
- Remembers whether you chose light or dark mode. Until you change it.
- Keeps a post you are writing on your device until you send it, so nothing is lost if you leave or log in. Until you post it or start again.
- Remembers which notifications you have read and the alerts you chose on this device. Until you clear your browser data.
- Remembers that you have seen today's poll. Until the next day's poll.
3.2. Analytics cookies
We do not currently use any analytics cookies.
3.3. Cookies from other companies
3.3.1. We do not place cookies from other companies on the Service.
3.3.2. If you choose "Continue with Google", you go to Google's own sign-in pages, where Google may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy.
4. Your choices
4.1. Cookie settings. When you first visit the Service, we ask for your choice. You can:
- choose Accept all to allow essential and analytics cookies;
- choose Essential only to allow only essential cookies; or
- choose Manage to switch analytics cookies on or off.
If you close the message without choosing, we treat that as Essential only.
4.2. Changing your mind. You can change your choice at any time by selecting Cookie settings at the bottom of any page.
4.3. Browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. If you block essential cookies, you will not be able to log in and some parts of the Service will not work. Deleting your browser data also deletes your cookie choices, so we will ask again.
4.4. Privacy settings in your browser. If your browser tells websites that you do not want to be tracked, we treat that as Essential only.
5. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we change the cookies we use or when the law changes. The date of the latest version is shown at the top. If we add a cookie that needs your consent, we will ask before using it.
